UNTITLEDOil and acrylic on canvas, 205x150 cm, 2015In 2004 the widow of an artist cheaply sold materials her husband. I bought a primed canvas from her. After some time I started to work on this canvas. Among the artists, the practice of repaint works, for economic canvas, is widespread, so for some time, I painted another layer on the top, and it lasted for about ten years. During this time, I was not able to create on it, something, that I would consider worthy to hold. Because of the reflections on previous history of this canvas, the impossibility of completing and the numerous layers of paint, I decided to try to wipe the layers and demonstrate the impossibility of completion.

SOME THESIS ON WORK, METHODS, AND MY OWN POSITIONAcrylic on paper 250х340 cm, 2014- I would most like the idea and form to emerge spontaneously at the same time.- I really wish not to claim or take someone else's place.- I would like to remain in the shadow but also stand out against others.- Original ideas and approaches to work are also desired.- I am thinking, in particular, about the Western Ukrainian painting tradition.- Reflections on the gallery interior, its flaws and prerogatives, play an important role.- I also often think about maximizing financial resources for the artwork.- The large number of possible options for creating a work about something gives me the opportunity to make a piece about it.

BACKPACKObject, photo, sizes variables, 2012In 2012, I worked at the 7th Berlin Biennale. The project took place in the old church of St. Elizabeth, which now functions as a cultural and artistic institution. One day, my backpack was stolen from there. When I was looking for it, among the abandoned items, I found an old church robe. Within a few days, I sewed it onto the backpack, thus reclaiming what was lost.

SELF-PORTRAITMixed media, 180х60х50 cm, 2013In 2013, the Center of Contemporary Art opened in Ivano-Frankivsk. The opening was accompanied by an exhibition titled "Presentation," consisting of works gifted to the Center. For this event, I created and gifted a self-portrait. In this way, with one gesture, I made a certain contribution to the development of contemporary art and symbolically remained connected to my hometown. The sculpture was created in the courtyard near the house where I grew up, using materials found there: the frame from an old fence, molds for facial and hand sculptures made from clay from the garden, plaster from my parents' construction, my own clothing, hair, accessories, and a television antenna holder.
